Big sleeping beast

I found my sweet doggle laying under his blanket this morning, just sleeping the day away. I crept to the other room to retrieve my camera...and now you can see what it's like when my huge dog wakes up. I love it when he wags his tail when I say his name - it makes my heart smile. he's so sweet! and so spoiled :)

my new (baby pool) garden

I am what you might call a "late bloomer", and my green thumb was no exception. For the first 26 years of my life I had a black thumb - killing the plants you absolutely cannot kill...aloe, grocery store vines, cactus's, you get the idea. For whatever reason, when I turned 27, the stars aligned and ka-boom! green thumb. With the exception of the cactus I planted upside down (which I love, thanks mrs. stone!, and -  I re-planted that cactus and still lives today!) I have not killed one thing. So, this year I am going to try and grow things I can eat!!

Here is my homemade strawberry and spinach patch:

stuff I had around the yard to use

the plants!! Strawberries and Spinach

first coat of butter yellow paint :)

critter protection cage - complete with yellow ribbon and old bricks

"yep, I'm gonna to try and eat this even though I don't know what it is"

"oh brother, do I have to go in there? I have been a little naughty lately..."

Finished! Yipee!!

what NOT to say on your first day on the job...

So, the Lord has provided me a great new job that I hope to be at for many years to come! I work at a dental office, and on my first day, I pulled a total "Lindsay". I was attempting to learn new medical terms I would need to know for scheduling patients:

What you should write in a chart for a cleaning: Patient needs Prophylaxis

What I thought was a dentistry term (it sounded familiar?!?!): Patient needs Prophylactics

um...NOT the same. just fire me now. (I just wanted to die...atleast I am promoting important things like safe sex and heathy teeth)

The birds...

I wish I could have taken a picture down the entire street...the birds are on the wires for about 2 miles down a main road in town. Its really cool, and probably very poopy underneath :)

"I heart roto rooter"

For those of you who have never met norman, he is most definitely the laziest, most chill dog in town. It has been so cold here lately, that he has been forced to stay indoors, and he COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! He would prefer to stay on his bed for days at a time, and sleep the day away. :)

So, after the snow melted this past week, I have been making him go outside, and he has NOT been happy about it. It takes him a while until he loves being outside when it's warm....and even though the days are beautiful, he stands at the back door willing the door to open and for him to be let back in...until today.

I made him go out...I expected him to be at the door. No norman. That's weird, I thought to myself. He must be doing some serious business in the yard. Minutes went by, then 30, and I couldn't believe it! I went to my room to peek on him, afraid that if I opened the back door he might suddenly bolt inside. So I found him laying on a beach towel that had blown off the fence watching...the roto rooter man!!  I'm telling you, he is completely mesmerized.  He can't take his eyes off this guy. He has been out there on that towel for 2 hours.

I don't know what's weirder - My dog drooling over a guy sucking out drains, or me taking pictures of a stranger from my bedroom window! haha :)

Read and Feed Blog

I have longed for a book club, and since I have not found the right one yet, I will start my own :) I just love reading, and I love connecting with people, and I love the Lord, so I am going to facilitate the book CHOOSING FORGIVENESS by Nancy Leigh DeMoss, and I would love for you to join me!

This blog is not like a traditional bible study, but a book club of people (probably ladies, let's just be honest :) ) who are reading the same book, and publish comments as they are lead.

If you know anyone that might benefit from this book, please send them the link to the blog, so they can join in the discussion!
