We went to the World Series!! (kinda)
In texas, all that people are talking about is the World Series. Are we baseball fans? No. Are we fair weather fans when things get exciting? Absolutely. So, we decided to go to the World Series and have the full experience - burgers, baked beans, beers, smores - and the best thing about it is we never had to sit in that awful Arlington traffic because... we were in our backyard!

cooooold blooded
When I was a girl, winter was the kind of event that, when approached with the attitude of a seasoned athlete, one would endure by gritting one's teeth and digging down deep to that part of your spirit that is inspired by hard work and determination. We prided ourselves at keeping the thermostat at 62, or even less, and marveled at the savings we were acquiring and how tough we were. Because after all, "it's free to layer!!" So, fast forward to my adulthood, I carried on the traditions of frugal woman everywhere, and I proudly tell you I once made it through an entire winter without turning on the heater. I was miserably cold, and I would drink hot liquids all day long, but I was so incredibly elated when the electricity bill arrived...$23.00. I am awesome.
So, imagine my surprise when my husband, tride-and-true texan that he is, does not feel the need to layer for free:
me: "How did you sleep last night babe?"
him: "Honestly, I was cold. And, babe, I was cold last night too. But- I tucked the covers up all around my head, then I was able to sleep."
We have a comforter on our bed.
We have a down comforter inside a heavy duvet cover on top of that.
It's 71 degrees in our house.
This is going to be the warmest winter of my life :)

me: "uh.....oh boy.....maybe we should ask the guy who spent the last 2 days inside while we were at work..."

S hooks
a new home means a new jewelry solution, and I didn't want to make it too girly because my suite-mate is now a man. so, with a package of wire and some S hooks - I'd say I had a successful crafts and arts day! :)
