Every NASCAR event needs a pace-car to start the event:

Normy and H-dog

We went to visit my fabulous cuz and family this weekend, and of course, Norman's uncle Hershall was a big hit. Hershall and Norman are both anti-social, grandpa-type creatures who are typically very quiet, sleepy, and good - but they both don't really enjoy the company of other dogs. We captured some very precious moments with these 2 crank pots. Enjoy :)

Gess who's who?
This next picture is VERY funny is you know these boys.  Hershall is on norman's bed, and this is hilarious because #1 Hersh does NOT go on other dogs beds, period. and #2 Norms does NOT allow other dogs on his bed under any circumstances.

brave hershall
Norman walks out - pretending he doesn't notice the large brown mass on his bed.

Easter Gooooodies

Ok so I was 100% totally bad and did not take ONE picture of my Easter celebration this weekend! We were in San Antone celebrating first of all our Risen Lord (can I get an Amen!) and the incredible Steve Stone's 60th Birthday...and I have nothing to show for it. I could just kick myself.

Some funny stories:

-  While skype-ing my nephew, I was (like any normal aunt) trying to get him to say my name and how much he loved me, so I place myself front and center in the webcam - my head as big as the screen. In the middle of our conversation, skyler says "russell?". Wait - - who??? You are supposed to me loving me!?!?!? Yes. Russell was standing behind me, only his left hip in the frame, and my nephew decided he wanted to say his name instead of mine. And to add salt to the wound, as the conversation went on, he kept saying "russell?" at random, making sure he was still standing back there, while also not saying my name.

The final name count:
Russell's name: 50 zillion.
My name: 2.

-  Also on the skype call - Mrs. Stone brought in some wild creatures (a chicken, a parrott, and a turtle) and held them up to the webcam to show them to sky. It was a BIG hit. My genius nephew said all their names and he kept poking the computer screen when he saw them and would say "BIRD!" or "TURTLE" and the whole screen would shake and get wonky...my sister kept having to grab his hand and say "no, don't poke the screen". haha :)

-  The Stones have 4 dogs, 3 of them are about the size of russell's boot. One is medium sized - a huksy-looking dog that is about 1/2 norman's size named abby. She is not threatening at all. Every morning she would lay on the tile in the hallway, and we would just step over her again and again to go into the rest of the house. Well, as soon as norman came out of his room and saw the completely harmless dog laying down in the hall, he would back up and look around with this panicked look on his face that said "oh boy, oh boy. I will never get out of this hallway. there is no where to go. nope, I'll never get out. I guess I'll just stand here....ok....she didn't move. I'm going back to my room. I'm trapped. I can't go anywhere."
I would finally have abby get up and norman would nervously rush by and his nails clicked as he scooted by...what a weenie!

I just remembered I did take one picture on my phone on the way home of the Norman man sleeping happily in the back of the pick-up.  I swear that's a smile on his face.  :)

Once, Twice, Three times a Ghini

We went to this art show yesterday near the airport, and on the way there we saw this streak of yellow, silver, and black cross in front of us at an intersection. A little while down the road there was this smooth and powerful kitty-purr coming up from behind us and low and behold, it was a Lamborghini! Then, the sound happened again, and it was another one, then behind that, another one! I don't know why, but I was SO ENAMOURED by these cars, they were incredible. And the sounds the engines were making was so different than the engines I hear on a regular basis (my mini and russell's monster diesel) and I think it was that sound that was so intoxicating...powerful and quiet and the same time. it was so cool. They would just take off and be gone - - amazing.

Check out these pics I took on my phone...I nearly crawled in russell's lap and obstructed his vision to take all these!! I couldn't get enough!

The white car inbetween the ghini's is this old guy in a Porsche that was trying so desperately to keep up and be cool, but the only time he could catch them was at the stop lights.  :)

widdle biddy onesie

my cousin so lovingly reminded me this week that I am soon to be entering the last year of my 20's, and after that, the next mile stone I will enter into with regards to age (besides my dreaded 30th birthday) is the time she refers to as "AMA" which is....Advanced Maternal Age. Yes ladies, 34 is advanced maternal age according to the medical community and I am only five short years away from this!?!?!?!

anyway,  on a related note, I made a onesie for my baby-bestie Ava Jane, the daughter of my dear friend Jess.  i am hoping jess will take a pic of ava in her lil' suit so you can see how cute this baby is. the three of us are walking buddies and i just love them! this was my first onesie project.  it is a grey bird. :)

Here she is!!
