pink stick!!

There are these unique, awesome plants all over north texas that I love, and I decided to plant one in the front garden beds almost 3 years ago.  The part I love the most is the long stick that can grow up to 6 feet high, and has pink flowers at the end!  Mine started small with green pointed leaves, low to the ground, and didn't have a flower on it...yet.   I have been waiting and waiting...it has been doing it's thing, with no noticeable change, but when I went to mow the yard a few days ago, a long pink stick with the signature pink flower buds just suddenly showed up! check it out...

I am so excited my green thumb is still working. :)

Just fence me in

Whatahusband built this with his own two hands, and I love him for being so handy and such a hard worker.  Is this not the most beautiful fence you have ever seen?!?!?! I am such a proud wife. :)

Pics from my phone...

A snapshot of some of our days captured on my phone :)

Yep, you guessed it...that cup has alcohol in it.

My little hands were not cut out for digging holes in our backyard.  I found the biggest most durable bandaides I could find to cover the most massive blister...I'm pretty sure I will never recover from it.

I grew up in Kansas, so I know exactly what to do when a Tornado comes my way. Go up to the 4th floor of the place I work and take pictures of course! I ain't scared of no twister.

Quite possibly the cutest Easter basket I have ever seen.  I came up with LOADS of pants jokes that I have been dying to tell, but in honor of the true meaning on Easter, I will keep them to myself, hee hee.

Quilt Preview

My quilt at Eileen Quilts has taken it's turn on the Longarm quilting machine, and now it's finished and ready to be shipped home to live on our couch.  The owner, Lindsay, sent me a preview today...Can't wait to get it and finish the edging!

Lindsay is dead.

Ok, so I'm not literally dead, just the old me. The pre-married me. I have discovered a few things married Lindsay does that single Lindsay would NEVER have done! here are just a few:

1. New Lindsay has a separate load of laundry just for socks. All man socks are washed in a different load because man socks are soooo smelly that they make any laundry that shares the same washing water smell like feet. How come no one told me that guys are so smelly?!?!

2. New Lindsay realized that she will never again, as long as she lives, be able to own a posh and very designery adorable white bath rug for the guest bathroom. Just not going to happen. White, especially in close proximity to boots, doesn't last long around a man like mine. I always thought design doesn't compromise, but apparently Mrs. Design does. :)

3. New Lindsay buys MAYONNAISE!!! In my 29 years, I have never, ever, bought mayonnaise, nor was I ever planning on it. Oh boy, I buy it now. In the industrial 5 lb. jar.  I am so tempted to tell every lady that looks into my cart as she walks by me in the grocery "this is not for me!!!!!" but then I look into her cart and see a 10 lb. can of nacho cheese and figure we're in the same boat.

4.  New Lindsay says things like "you are covered in diesel fuel" and "I was trying to super-glue this huge cut on your hand closed and...oops....now my finger is stuck to your cut" and "Rather than throwing that couch away, you cut it up and burned it piece-by-piece in the grill?  Very creative."

In all seriousness, my life is awesome, whatahusband is awesome, and I have no complaints. I am realizing, though, that when I started a new life with somebody else, I became new too.  I became a part of something that has profoundly changed the course of my life, and although it has been an adjustment, in wonderful and sometimes difficult ways, I couldn't have made a better choice. Except for the mayonnaise. :)

Texas Country

Love. This. Song.  And, interesting factoid, all of these dudes are from Denton Texas, USA, and I played the sparkly blue drums that are in this video (I mean, I think I did...how many sparkly blue drum sets do you think are in the world? I played some that were at a denton recording studio once, and I'm going to think these were them.) :)
