Stuffed

There were a few months when our hallway was clear, but... that's over now. We're (almost) boxed up and ready to roll on over to our new nest.

Needless to say - Norman has a not been enjoying this transition. We keep telling him to hang in there, that he's going to big open fields where he can chase bunnies and play in the pond, but I'm fairly certain he's remembering the last time he moved.  He was happily living in a house full of girls and was the king of the coop...now he's just a normal dog in another man's house. Poor norms.

Love

Romans 8:37-39 "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

"Love is not only something God does; love is something God is. God would have to stop being in order to stop loving. Again, our temptation is to humanize God, because we are limited to understanding love as a verb. With God, love is first a noun. It’s what and who He is."
- Breaking Free by Beth Moore

I have been recovering from nasal surgery.  I remember when they were wheeling me back to the surgical room...I had just left Whatahusband and honestly - I was a little scared.  Ok, alot scared. I was calm up until the point when I had to leave him, and I was pushed away all alone.  I couldn't see where I was going or who was pushing me, only hear their voices and watch the ceiling move above me.  I was prepared for the procedure, but not prepared for how alone I would feel. My prayers were increasing, my mind was racing - trying to conjure up the perfect verse that would make me feel better.  I was asking God to give me peace, calm my fears. They parked me in the room, transferred me onto the sterile steel table, and a man's face appeared over mine.  He was greying, and had a sweet smile and a calm voice. I remembered he was the anesthesiologist from the prep room.  He said "Hi. It's me again. I will be right here beside you and I won't leave you.  I'll be here the whole time, until the end.  My only job is to take care of you."  I closed my eyes. Those words seemed so familiar to me...I will never leave you...

I've thought about this moment many times over the last few days, and on Valentines Day, I thanked God for loving me so well. There is no place our Father cannot find us, and no barrier too large to block His love from finding us.

Went to visit my sister and her family for the day...and had the chance to photograph these awesome kiddos. Couldn't believe we had such happy children for this shoot. Love my sweet nieces and nephew!

Hello friends

Things have been pretty nuts for us lately, so I thought I'd share a few iphone pics from this week.

Spurge, ya hear?

Prayer is the rustling of the wings of the angels that are on their way bringing us the boons of heaven. Have you heard prayer in your heart? You shall see the angel in your house. When the chariots that bring us blessings do rumble, their wheels do sound with prayer. We hear the prayer in our own spirits, and that prayer becomes the token of the coming blessings. Even as the cloud foreshadoweth rain, so prayer foreshadoweth the blessing; even as the green blade is the beginning of the harvest, so is prayer the prophecy of the blessing that is about to come.

the power of prayer

I posted a while back that my big sister was moving to Oklahoma from Iowa, and in my mind that meant...one sister down (literally, moving down south)...one sister to go.

Well, I believe in the power of prayer.

I am THRILLED to say that BOTH of my sisters will soon be living in Oklahoma!!  How amazing and exciting is that?? My baby sister's husband got a job in OKC, so that means a move from Arkansas. This also means both of my sisters and their families will be 3 hours (or less!) by car from my front door.

Could I be any more excited? I love hanging out with my sisters. They are so much fun, and now that I have nieces and nephews, that means more little lives that I want to experience and be a part of. I am thinking of them growing up. I am thinking of them growing up with my kids being their friends.

When I grew up, we spent so much time with my cousins, they were almost like sisters. I have a memory of playing (and getting in trouble) with my 3 cousins for every year that I can remember, and our friendships still thrive today.  My cousins are among my dearest friends, and I so want my kids to have friends that are also family members like I have.  I had long since accepted that this would likely not happen for our family because we were so far away from eachother geographically...but now it seems like it may be a reality after all.

I am so looking forward to all the fun family time we will have in the years to come. Love love you, sisters :)

Watch out sist-il*, I've been praying for you to move closer too... :)
